Culture Bonus 2022: what it is, who is entitled to, how to request it

From 17 March 2022 to 31 August 2022, children who have turned 18 in 2021, i.e. those born in 2003, can register on the 18app website and request the 2022 Culture Bonus of 500 euros.
The State makes this contribution available to new adults to spend on cultural activities such as cinema, music, books, museums, foreign language courses and much more, as we will see shortly.

WHAT IS THE 2022 CULTURE BONUS
The Culture Bonus 2022 is a facility aimed at adults, to whom the State distributes money in the form of a voucher worth 500 euros in order to support the dissemination of culture among young people through the purchase of various cultural products and activities. guy. This voucher is available electronically for all 18-year-olds who register on the 18app portal. The culture bonus, wanted by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, has been going on since 2016 and is now in its sixth edition.
THE LAWS THAT GOVERN IT
The Decree of the Ministry of Culture n. 244 of 20 December 2021, published in the Official Gazette no. 51 of 02.03.2022 contains the amendments to the Decree of 24 December 2019, n. 177 and concerns the criteria and methods of attribution and use of the benefit that we explain below in a simple and clear way. The bonus was made permanent by the 2022 Budget Law.
HOW THE 2022 CULTURE BONUS WORKS
To take advantage of the 500 Euro bonus, you must first register on the website www.18app.italia.it. Then you need to decide what you want to buy, taking into account that it is possible to spend the 500 euros at once or to divide them over multiple purchases. Then you access the 18app application, choose the type of merchant (physical or online store) and the type of product you want to buy and then create one or more vouchers for the amount of the good or service chosen. At this point, you can save on your smartphone or PC in pdf or image format or print it to show it to the merchant at the time of purchase.
When the store accepts the bonus, the amount of the same goes to reduce the credit available to the beneficiary. There are no spending limits for a single purchase, however you cannot buy multiple units of the same good or service. This means that it is not allowed to buy, for example, multiple tickets for the same show or multiple copies of the same book. Each voucher has an identification code, is individual and nominative and can only be spent by the registered beneficiary.
WHO IS IT
All children who have reached the age of majority in 2021 can benefit from the 2022 Culture Bonus. Not only that, the recipients of the contribution must also be resident in Italy and in possession, where required, of a valid residence permit.
HOW TO REQUEST THE 2022 CULTURE BONUS
To request the Culture 2022 Bonus it is necessary to register with SPID or CIE on the 18app portal from 17 March to 31 August 2022. The site is accessible from all devices (PC, tablet, smartphone) as long as they are connected to the Internet. Here are the steps to follow in detail:
enter the homepage www.18app.italia.it
register via SPID or CIE and authorize access to 18app;
confirm the displayed data and accept the conditions of use;
receipt of an email confirming the positive outcome of the registration upon completion of the procedure.
Once registration is complete, you can then view your wallet on the 18app site and start generating vouchers to spend the Culture Bonus. We remind you that the request for the bonus can only be made through the MIUR 18app portal. The app is not present in the app stores.
WHERE TO USE THE 2022 CULTURE BONUS
The merchants where you can spend the voucher are physical and online. Companies, commercial establishments and, more generally, the structures where you can use the electronic card are included in a special list that can be consulted on the 18app platform on this page.
The owners or legal representatives of businesses and structures interested in being included in this list must also register from 17 March to 31 August, with SPID or CIE credentials.
WHAT TO BUY
The cultural products and activities that 18-year-olds can purchase with the 2022 Culture Bonus are numerous. Here they are listed below:
tickets for theatrical and cinematographic performances and live performances;
books, including audio books and e-books;
admission tickets to museums, exhibitions and cultural events, monuments, galleries, archaeological areas, natural parks;
recorded music (eg cd, dvd);
music courses;
theater courses;
foreign language courses;
audiovisual publishing products;
subscriptions to newspapers and periodicals also in digital format. This entry was new for 2021 and was reconfirmed for the 2022 bonus.
It is not possible to buy PCs, tablets or mobile phones.
AMOUNT WHICH HAPPENS IF YOU EXCEED AND MIXED PAYMENTS
It has been said that the amount of the 2022 Culture Bonus is 500 euros. It should be added that, in the event that the purchase exceeds this amount, it will be possible to take advantage of the voucher, using it completely, and then adding the remainder in cash or another payment method accepted by the merchant.
In general, even if the value of 500 euros is not reached, purchases can be made with mixed payment (bonus + cash or credit card). However, it is up to the operator to accept this formula or not, so its provisions must be adhered to.
EXPIRY BONUS CULTURE 2022 FOR BORN 2003
For those born in 2003, it is possible to apply for the culture bonus from 17 March until 31 August 2022. To spend the bonus there will be time until 28 February 2023.
ISEE
The amounts assigned with the bonus do not constitute the beneficiary’s taxable income and are not relevant for the purpose of calculating the value of the ISEE. Furthermore, there are no ISEE limits for requesting the culture bonus.

THE NEWS OF THE CULTURE BONUS IN BUDGET LAW 2022
The 2022 Budget Law with article 108 stabilized and made permanent the culture bonus by defining the amount of the annual fund. The voucher, reserved for 18-year-olds, can be spent over 12 months between cinema, music, concerts, cultural events, books, music, museums, theaters, parks, dance, music and theater courses, foreign language, season tickets to newspapers, including digital ones. The government has allocated an expense of 230 million euros per year. Furthermore, the 2022 Budget introduces more controls on the correct use of money. Buying and selling the Bonus is a crime.
